Catalunya
Catalunya is one of 3 historic autonomous
communities in Spain with some 6 million inhabitants.
It is bordered on the north by the great mountain
range of the Pyrenees, and to the south by
the delta of the longest river in Spain, the
River Ebro. There are many tourist destinations
in Catalunya with Barcelona being a magnet
for visitors from all over the world.
Barcelona
The city is the provincial capital and is
perhaps best known to tourists for the cosmopolitan
and exciting street, Las Ramblas and the great
modernistic cathedral designed by Gaudi, La
Segrada Familiar, as well as being the site
for the 1992 Olympic Games.
Other popular tourist destinations are Calafell,
Salou, Lloret de Mar, Cambrils, Castelldefells
